For the longest time, I’ve wanted to do a photography workshop/course that would help me improve my photography. I’d enjoyed watching various YouTube photography channels and learnt a lot from them but I felt I’d reached a point where I didn’t really know how to improve photography further without the input of someone more skilled than me so I had a little google search of ‘photography workshops in the UK’ – a rather broad search I know, but a search that proved successful. I didn’t have to scroll far down the page to see a name I recognised from previous photography research and based in a location where my husband and I were planning a family holiday. It was a bit of a long shot to see if the photographer, Chris Frost, was free to do a workshop with me during the one week I was in the area but I emailed and hoped for the best. Thankfully, he was available and we set up a session. A couple of weeks ago I had that 1-2-1 tuition session.
I learnt a lot in the field from Chris and had a great day shooting two quite iconic locations in Dorest – Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. The following week I had a follow up post-processing call to go through some editing techniques and I have loved having a play on Lightroom and Photoshop to edit these photos. They are by no means perfect but I’m happy with them. These three of Durdle Door were my favourite and the last is actually Old Harry Rocks – I didn’t go here with Chris but went a couple of days after my session to practice what I’d learnt. Unfortunately I got there a little late for sunset, plus it was super windy so I wasn’t there long. But I did manage to get this shot and love how calm and serene is looks.

Big thanks to Chris Frost for sharing his photography skills and editing techniques with me. Check out his website here.
