There is something about being by the sea.
Something breathtaking. Something awe inspiring. Something calming.
I stand and look out to sea. I notice the waves crashing against the harbour wall. The surfers riding the dusky waves. The pinkiness of the sky as the sun sets on yet another day.
Then I look around and notice someone else doing as I’m doing. Standing. Just standing, looking out to sea. We both find a rock and sit. Really, there is nothing to see but an empty, cloudless sky and the movement of the sea. Yet, we can’t help but sit and just stare at the vast view before us.
The sound of the sea is thunderous. The sound of rocks rolling into the sea as the waves pull them back in. Large waves rise and fall as they crash on the sea shore.
My soul finds rest and I feel a calm within. A joy rising within me.
There is something about being by the sea. Something calming. Something awe inspiring. Something breathtaking.
